Quantron and HyperView establish joint venture in China
Quantron and Chinese technology company HyperView have agreed to establish a new joint venture. Quantron China will develop a platform for battery-electric and hydrogen-powered commercial vehicles, with Foxconn joining as an industrial manufacturing partner.

The Shaoxing-based joint venture will both serve the domestic market and act as a foundation for international expansion. According to Quantron, the company will contribute its expertise in the integration and homologation of zero-emission commercial vehicles, as well as its international market access. HyperView, meanwhile, will provide know-how in intelligent vehicle architectures and autonomous driving technologies.
The joint venture also marks Quantron’s visible return to the market: the AG, founded in 2019, had to file for insolvency at the end of October 2024 after a financing round failed. On 1 April 2025, founder Andreas Haller (via Andreas Haller Holding) acquired the remaining assets and what was then 35 employees as part of a transfer restructuring. The Quantron AG as a legal entity ceased to exist, but the Quantron brand was continued within the Haller Group. Conversely, the current announcement also originates from Andreas Haller Holding, which refers to Quantron as its Mobility Business Unit.
Following this upheaval, he brand is now aiming for a fresh start in China, with Foxconn providing the production capacity required for an international market launch of the planned truck and bus platforms. Quantron China will rely on scalable international SKD production and an industrialised supply chain, among other things.
Quantron plans new Gen2 platform for BEVs and FCEVs
At the heart of the collaboration is the new Gen2 commercial vehicle platform. It is being developed for battery-electric and hydrogen-powered trucks and buses and will feature, among other things, a next-gen cab, improved aerodynamics, connectivity and digital fleet functions, as well as the technical foundation for future autonomous driving functions. The first public presentation of these Gen2 vehicles is due to take place in H1 2027.
Prior to that, the partners aim to put 100 pre-series vehicles into operation with European customers by the end of 2026. According to Quantron, these represent a technological bridge and validation fleet for the upcoming Gen2 platform. Data on energy consumption, availability, performance and customer feedback will feed into its further development. The company does not specify which types of trucks are included in these 100 vehicles.
According to the partners, HyperView has already delivered a high three-digit number of hydrogen-powered commercial vehicles, primarily in China. The first vehicles are also in operation in Saudi Arabia. Quantron, in turn, states that it has brought a three-digit number of zero-emission vehicles and systems onto the road. Most recently, a hydrogen vehicle was delivered in Brazil together with a local partner.
The vehicles are to be offered via the Quantron-as-a-Service (QaaS) business model. Quantron combines the vehicle and financing with service, maintenance, an availability guarantee and digital fleet management, as well as energy solutions depending on the market and application. The company also promises a total cost of ownership that will be lower than that of a comparable diesel vehicle from day one. However, Quantron does not provide specific calculations or conditions for this TCO commitment in the announcement.
