Hyundai Ioniq 3 launches in the Netherlands from €27,995

Hyundai has published its first price list for the Ioniq 3. In the Netherlands, the model will start at 27,995 euros and comes with a 42-kWh battery in the base variant, offering a range of 344 km.

As reported during the world premiere in April, Hyundai is positioning the Ioniq 3 as a sleek Aero Hatch in the fiercely competitive volume market. Measuring around 4.16 metres in length, the model directly targets competitors such as the Renault 5, the Cupra Raval, and the VW ID. Polo, combining striking design with high everyday practicality.

In the Netherlands, the Ioniq 3 is launched in its base variant with a 42 kWh battery (Standard Range) at a starting price of €27,995. A comparison with its sibling model, the Kia EV2, reveals a close alignment in pricing: the latter starts at €27,595 in the Netherlands and €26,600 in Germany. That means the Ioniq 3 could also be slightly cheaper for end customers in Germany than in the Netherlands, partly due to Germany’s VAT rate being two percentage points lower (19% vs. 21%).

Customers opting for the larger battery variant with 61 kWh (Long Range) will pay at least €31,995 in the Netherlands. The smaller battery offers a WLTP range of around 344 kilometres, while the Long Range version achieves up to 497 kilometres. Interestingly, the base model with the shorter range delivers slightly more system power—107.8 kW—compared to the Long Range variant, which provides 99.5 kW.

Hyundai has equipped the new model with an efficient 400-volt architecture to keep production costs lower than those of the more expensive platforms used for the larger Ioniq models 5, 6, and 9. The vehicle is produced at Hyundai’s Turkish plant in İzmit. Additionally, the car features a new infotainment system called Pleos Connect, which is based on Android Automotive OS.

Depending on the model variant, the system runs on a centrally mounted, tablet-like touchscreen with a display diagonal of 12.9 or 14.6 inches. Similar to Tesla, all key driving information—such as speed, detected speed limits, or assistance system views—is displayed on the left side of the touchscreen. Unlike Tesla, however, there is an additional display behind the steering wheel that shows the most important information within the driver’s line of sight.

Customers in the Netherlands can choose from six trim levels for the Hyundai Ioniq 3, ranging from the functional base model Select to the sporty top variant N Line Evo. A comparable pricing and equipment structure is expected for the German market, though country-specific taxes and duties may lead to slight modifications, as previously mentioned.
