Easelink announces Luxshare as Chinese Licensee

Austrian company Easelink presents Luxshare as its first technology license partner from China. Both companies have contractually agreed to pursue the industrialisation and market introduction of the automated conductive charging solution Matrix Charging in China.

Easelink is an Austrian company based in Graz that has developed a unique charging solution for electric vehicles. In its system, the vehicle is parked with a retrofitted charging plate on its underbody over a floor-mounted charging pad—similar to inductive charging. However, unlike inductive charging, power is not transmitted wirelessly (with its associated losses). Instead, the connector mounted on the vehicle lowers onto the floor plate, establishing a conductive connection with significantly lower losses.

After years of development and testing, the system is now ready for commercialisation – and China is one of the most lucrative target markets for Easelink. The company is pursuing market entry via a licensing partnership, as “the specific requirements of the Chinese automotive market call for a local-for-local approach,” according to Easelink. With Luxshare, the company has secured “a dedicated licensee for China.” This marks another step in its strategy to establish licensing and industrialisation partners for the Matrix Charging system in all major automotive markets.

Both companies are already collaborating on initial OEM projects in China to integrate the technology into future vehicle platforms, Easelink states.

“Automated charging is constantly gaining importance in China, driven by the advancement of self-driving vehicles and growing demand for convenience features that make charging more seamless for EV users,” Easelink explained in a press release. In China, the system is marketed as Luxshare Matrix Charging.

According to Easelink, Luxshare is a player with strong local industrialisation expertise. The Austrians also plan to expand their team in China “closely accompany the technical and project-related collaboration with Luxshare and Chinese OEMs.”

Harvey Yuan, General Manager of Luxshare, commented: “We see great potential in our collaboration with Easelink, allowing us to tap into new customer segments […] Furthermore, we are aware of the critical role that standardization of new interfaces plays and therefore are committed to contribute to the corresponding standardizing efforts in the Matrix Charging Interest Group* to secure interoperability and a broad market acceptance..” The aforementioned group, abbreviated as MCIG, is an alliance of industry representatives founded at the end of 2025, aiming to advance the standardisation of the Easelink system. Founding members include, alongside the developer itself, prominent players such as Audi, Nissan and Voyah.

Hermann Stockinger, Founder and CEO of Easelink, also welcomes the new licensing partnership: “We are delighted to collaborate with such a globally significant player as Luxshare, a complementary partner with strong engineering know-how. Together, we will will focus on serving local customers in China and integrate Matrix Charging® into existing value chains within the automotive industry. This partnership marks an important milestone in our growing presence in China and is central building block in our mission to set the global industry standard for automated charging.”

Over the summer, Stockinger already presented SEG Automotive, a German supplier, as a licensing partner. In addition to initial OEM projects, SEG Automotive plans to incorporate Easelink technology into its own product portfolio under licence. This partner also joined the Matrix Charging Interest Group over the summer.

SEG Automotive is an international automotive supplier that emerged in 2018 from Bosch’s starter and generator business division and today belongs to the Chinese ZMJ Group. The company is headquartered in Stuttgart and specialises in powertrain and electrification components.
