Changan UK selects Ohme as home charging partner

The Chinese automotive group Changan is partnering with Ohme as its preferred home EV charging partner in the UK. This will enable Changan customers to order an Ohme home charger and installation through the manufacturer's UK dealership network.

According to a press release, Ohme chargers will be available to view inside Changan dealerships, with the home EV charging company providing full installation services as well as dealer training and support. The two companies also plan to collaborate on vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology and other home charging developments, although these have not been specified.

Ohme has provided a generic cost estimate for charging Changan vehicles using its hardware, claiming that fully-charging a Changan Deepal S05 with a 68.8kWh battery using an Ohme charger could cost as little as £5.50. That’s based on its 303 mile WLTP range, using a dynamic EV tariff such as Intelligent Octopus Go (here cited at £0.08 p/kWh). The company states that its chargers use live grid data to automatically optimise the cost of charging, and also feature a solar boost function.

“With the successful introduction of the Changan Deepal S05 and S07 to the UK and exciting new models such as the new S05 Ultra PHEV on the horizon, we’re delighted to be partnering with Ohme to the benefit of both Changan’s customers and our growing retailer network,” said Nic Thomas, managing director of Changan UK.”

This comes amid a wider UK expansion for Changan, which first entered the market under its Deepal brand with its electric S07 SUV last year. The Chinese group initially planned to sell the S07 through 20 UK dealerships, with the network set to expand to 50 by the end of the year. The smaller Deepal S05 followed in February 2026, becoming Changan’s second UK model.
