Cadillac’s go-fast electric SUV arrives makes its way Down Under

Following the debut of its Formula 1 team earlier this year, GM’s global ambitions for flagship luxury brand Cadillac continue to unfold in the 2027 model year as the ultra-hot V-series Lyriq-V EV makes its way to dealers Down Under.

Cadillac announced the next step in its ambitious expansion this week, confirming plans to deliver the 615 hp, 650 lb-ft of torque V-series Lyriq-V to Australia and New Zealand for 2027.

“Lyriq-V is a landmark vehicle for Cadillac in Australia and New Zealand. It brings the V-Series badge into the electric era for the first time, and delivers the immediacy, the precision, and the drama our customers expect from a performance Cadillac,” said Acting Managing Director, GM Australia & New Zealand, Greg Rowe. “At 459 kW, 880 Nm and 3.6 seconds from 0-100 km/h (~62 mph), it is a genuine performance SUV, but it also retains the refinement, technology and everyday usability that define the Lyriq experience.”

GM gets it right

GM Authority reports that the V2G-capable 2027 Cadillac Lyriq-V will launch in Australia and New Zealand with the same right-hand-drive configuration first introduced in Japan earlier this year, along with a distinct battery pack specific to international markets. In addition to the right-hand-drive setup, the outlet reports that the 2027 Lyriq-V for Oceania features trim adjustments like larger side mirrors and exclusive interior upholstery materials (shown, above).

As noted, above, the 2027 Lyriq-V for Oceania powertrain packs GM’s “international” 92 kWh battery pack, which is good for an estimated range of 471 km (~295 miles) on the WLTP combined cycle. Pricing is set to start at 109,000 NZD (~$62,500 USD).
