BOW: Stellantis Pro One unveils autonomous delivery vehicle

At IAA Transportation, Stellantis Pro One is presenting BOW ('Box on Wheels') - an autonomous electric delivery vehicle developed to test new approaches to urban operations. The concept vehicle was developed in collaboration with UQI Robotics and is intended to serve as a platform for a deeply integrated ecosystem.

Stellantis Pro One and UQI Robotics are collaborating on autonomous delivery concepts. At IAA Transportation in Hannover, the jointly developed concept vehicle BOW – short for ‘Box-on-Wheels’ – will be presented to the public for the first time. It has been designed for urban logistics and commercial customers. The initiative aims to address the evolving needs of logistics companies and develop new approaches for the last-mile transport chain.

The BOW concept vehicle is a fully electric and autonomous logistics vehicle, specifically developed for urban delivery tasks and last-mile goods distribution. Beyond its pure transport functions, the vehicle is intended to act as an integrated logistics platform to improve operational efficiency and sustainability.

Stellantis Pro One has identified potential applications for BOW beyond urban delivery, including enclosed areas such as industrial sites, airports, hospitals, and zones with strict access restrictions or low-emission limits. However, Stellantis Pro One and UQI Robotics have not yet disclosed specific technical details, such as battery capacity, range, payload, or the sensors used.

Beyond BOW – towards an ecosystem

The collaboration extends beyond the BOW concept vehicle. Stellantis Pro One contributes its industry expertise in commercial vehicles and its understanding of the operational requirements of professional users. UQI Robotics provides technological expertise in artificial intelligence, robotics, and autonomous systems. UQI Robotics is a joint venture founded in 2020 by UBTECH and Miracle Automation, drawing on experience from deployments in over 60 cities worldwide.

In the first phase, the geographical focus of validation measures will be on Europe. The aim is to evaluate how autonomous logistics, electrification, connectivity, and supporting services can be combined into an integrated solution for future logistics processes. In later stages of the project, expansion into international markets will also be examined.

Part of the FaSTLAne 2030 strategy

Stellantis Pro One also plans to establish a comprehensive support framework for customers. This will include services, fleet integration, and business solutions to enhance operational efficiency and support more sustainable delivery models. The development is also part of the company’s “FaSTLAne 2030” strategy, which links customer-oriented technologies with strategic industry partnerships.

While autonomous urban commercial vehicles are already a reality in China, this partnership allows us to examine how such technologies could be adapted to other markets and customer needs. Together, we want to develop a truly groundbreaking approach for the light commercial vehicle sector and expand the role of the vehicle from a means of transport to an integrated logistics platform that can help operators improve efficiency, productivity, and sustainability.”
