The all-new Dacia Spring goes official as a sharply redefined, fully electric urban EV for 2026

Dacia has pulled the wraps off the second‑generation Spring, marking a decisive new chapter in the brand’s electric strategy. Still 100% Dacia but now entirely redesigned, the new Spring arrives as a smarter, more robust A‑segment EV built in Europe and engineered to deliver exactly what everyday drivers need.
The original Spring became a breakthrough model, selling more than 210,000 units across over forty countries since 2021 and introducing many customers to electric mobility for the first time. The new generation keeps the familiar name but reinvents everything else, starting with a shift to Renault Group's new RG‑EV small platform. This upgrade brings modern proportions, an 18‑centimetre increase in width for a stronger stance and more interior space, and access to the latest e‑technologies developed by the Group.
The design philosophy remains unmistakably Dacia: essential, functional, and confident. The exterior adopts a geometric, structured look with signature black trim strips linking the headlights and taillights, emphasising width and reinforcing the new light signature inspired by the Dacia Link emblem. Four colours - Agave, Schist Grey, Diamond Black, and Glacier White - anchor the palette. Inside, horizontal dashboard lines enhance perceived space, while a 7‑inch digital cluster and a 10.1‑inch central touchscreen (on higher trims) modernise the cabin. Cohesive detailing, including geometric roof‑to‑body separation and bluish upholstery accents, reinforces the brand’s focus on clarity and purpose.
Under the skin, the new Dacia Spring is powered by a 60 kW (80 hp) motor delivering 175 Nm of torque, enough for smooth integration into city and highway traffic. The 27.5 kWh LFP battery provides up to 250 km of WLTP combined range - more than sufficient for typical Spring users, who average 34 km per day. Charging options are deliberately simple and flexible: a standard 6.6 kW AC charger handles overnight home charging, while optional fast‑charge capability adds 11 kW AC and 50 kW DC support, cutting the 15-80% charging time to as little as 28 minutes on DC.
Daily usability has been a core priority. The new Spring offers a hands‑free card (Journey trim), adjustable driving position, a tight 4.95‑metre turning radius, and reversing sensors as standard. A reversing camera is included on upper trims. The RG‑EV platform, revised tyres, and 15‑ or 16‑inch wheels contribute to a smoother, more composed ride. Dacia's My Safety function lets drivers pre‑set preferred ADAS configurations at start‑up, avoiding repetitive adjustments.
Connectivity is streamlined and intentionally accessible. The Expression trim features Media Control, integrating smartphone functions through a dedicated app and a secure dashboard phone holder. The Journey trim upgrades to Media Nav Live with a 10.1‑inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, eight years of connected navigation with real‑time traffic, and a suite of connected services including charge scheduling, cabin pre‑conditioning, vehicle tracking, and an app store.
The all‑new Dacia Spring is produced at Renault's Novo Mesto plant in Slovenia, marking a shift from the first‑generation model, which was manufactured in China. The Dacia Spring Expression trim is priced at EUR 17,900, while the Dacia Spring Jorney starts at EUR 19,400.
