Volvo certified for LMD-VI electric bus HVAC family
Thermal management supplier Songz announces it has obtained Volvo HVAC Compatibility Certification for its LMD-VI electric bus HVAC family. According to information released by Songz, the Volvo certification was obtained on 28 May 2026.
TfL 2.5 approval for London double-decker bus applications
Songz’s systems for electric double-decker buses have received TfL 2.5 approval for applications in London. The company also states that 854 of its HVAC systems had been installed on zero-emission double-decker buses in London by 2026.
Songz HVAC systems: Volvo certified and TfL 2.5 approved
The Volvo HVAC Compatibility Certification covers Songz’s LMD-VI electric HVAC family. The company identifies high efficiency, optimised energy consumption and advanced control among the characteristics of its LMD product range.
For electric double-decker applications in London, Songz states that its HVAC systems have passed the Transport for London 2.5 standard. The company’s JLE series is certified to both TfL 2.2 and TfL 2.5, according to Songz.
The JLE system includes waste-heat recovery, with Songz claiming energy savings of up to 17.8%. The company also describes the unit as featuring a compact integrated architecture with customisation options.
Songz electric bus thermal management at FIAA 2026
Songz states that it has supplied 307,195 electric bus HVAC systems worldwide. The company reports an industrial footprint comprising 19 plants, more than 3,000 employees, including 387 engineers, and a portfolio of 1,243 patents.
The thermal management supplier will exhibit at FIAA 2026, scheduled for 22–24 September at IFEMA Madrid. Songz will be located in Hall 9, Stand 9C21, where it will present its e-mobility thermal management solutions.
